    Notes:

    William enlisted on either the 1st or the 5th of October, 1864 in Co. C, 5th Reg., TN Mt. Inf. He may have died in 1865 in Regimental Hospital, Crawfish Springs, GA. His father applied for a parent's civil war pension, 29 May 1883 in NC. He apparently never married.

    Crawfish Springs was incorporated in 1891 as Chickamauga, Georgia. There was a mill here, the Gordon and Lee Mill, that saw much skirmishing during the battle of Chickamauga. During the battle, the house and grounds of the Gordon-Lee Mansion became the main hospital for the second bloodiest battle of the Civil War, with 30 Union doctors remaining behind to work on the wounded after the Confederate victory. It is in this hospital that he is believed to have died.

    Zachary Olvey enlisted in Co. C, 5th Tennessee Mountain Infantry on 4th or 5th of Oct, 1864 for 1 year at Cleveland, TN. and was discharged 16 Jul 1865, serving 8 months, 16 days. On 2 Nov 1886, Zachary applied for an invalid's civil war pension, listing his disablility as measles. It has been reported that the 5th TN was a Federal Unit.
